The Wait is Finally Over! Super Junior's KYUHYUN Confirmed for Penghu Music & Light Festival, Headlining Opening Night

The highly anticipated annual "2026 Penghu Music & Light Festival" is just around the corner, and the identity of the most talked-about mysterious guest from South Korea has finally been revealed: KYUHYUN, a member of the Hallyu superstar group Super Junior, will headline the opening night. The announcement instantly sparked passionate discussions among fans, creating massive hype for the festival even before it begins, making it one of the most anticipated grand music events this autumn.
The "2026 Penghu Music & Light Festival" will be held from September 12 to October 3, featuring five themed concerts across four consecutive weekends plus an extra show on September 13. Among them, the "Dazzling 'SING' Light Opening Night" on September 12 boasts a luxurious lineup, featuring TRASH and this year's Golden Melody Awards Best Mandarin Male Singer nominee Crowd Lu, alongside KYUHYUN.
In fact, KYUHYUN has developed a profound bond with Taiwan in recent years. He has served as the tourism ambassador for the Taiwan Tourism Administration for two consecutive years and has held concerts multiple times in Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Chiayi. Passionate about Taiwan's culinary and travel culture, he frequently recommends the beautiful island to South Korean fans. He previously mentioned his hope to complete a concert tour around the island; thus, making his debut on the Penghu stage is seen as a significant step toward fulfilling that promise.
Beyond KYUHYUN, this year's cast is equally star-studded. The "Sound Wave Roaming Night" on September 13 will feature relay performances by Bestards, Cosmos People, and PALLAS. The "Tipsy Beats Night" on September 19 has invited Amazing Show, Mango, The Chairs, and Who Cares to take the stage in turns, bringing diverse styles of musical performances.
The "Sound Wave Frenzy Night" debuting on September 26 will see Nine One One, OSN, and PIZZALI taking over to fire up the atmosphere. For the grand finale on October 3, the "Heatwave Swing Night" will feature relay performances by Amber An, PAPUN BAND, and Nick Chou, who is also competing for the Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Male Singer, drawing the event to a spectacular close.
Crowd Lu, who just wrapped up his world tour, is also full of anticipation for his return to Penghu. He joked, "Indoor heating is man-made, but Penghu's ventilation comes from the ocean." He humorously added that he has already prepared a hairstyle suitable for strong winds. Having previously participated in the festival, he was deeply impressed by the local seafood and the beachside stage, even teasing beforehand, "What I look forward to most is the Penghu breakfast the next day."
Nick Chou, who has also performed at the event before, shared his memories of Penghu as well. He expressed, "The impression is super profound; the stage is right by the sea. Although it's hot, the sea breeze blowing in feels really comfortable." He further revealed that upon his arrival back then, he immediately tried cactus ice cream and scallion pancakes, and plans to feast on seafood and Penghu's signature XO sauce delicacies with his band and staff after this performance. With KYUHYUN's official addition to the lineup revealed, the "2026 Penghu Music & Light Festival" is bound to attract more domestic and international music fans on a pilgrimage, unleashing the strongest music wave this autumn.
